Even though we're still in winter, I see January as a fresh, spring-like start. What better way to start the new year than with a few new touches around the house to brighten up your living space? And what better site to shop on than Amara?
One thing we definitely wanted to do in January was sort out our mug cupboard. It was full of old, chipped and broken mugs and we definitely wanted a refresh. These Hummingbird mugs from Pip Studio caught my eye immediately. They're so bright, so fun and you get four in a set so they're really good value. I love having smaller, cuter mugs in our collection because I am a fiend with my tea - I can never finish a whole mug - so having mini mugs as well as some regular sized ones is perfect for me! They're also incredibly photogenic! I think I'm going to have to buy a mug tree so I can display these on the side as they are much too cute for the cupboard!
When I saw that Amara had Mr. Fox items, I was over the moon. I am obsessed with the Mr. Fox design and I actually got a Mr Fox spatula from my mum for Christmas! Johnny and I want to include more plants to our kitchen so I though that these little Mr. Fox Herb Pots would be perfect to add something new to our kitchen. We are planning on putting these in the windowsill and growing basil, rosemary and thyme in these as they'll add some much needed green to our kitchen and some fresh, free seasoning for our dishes. I love these pots as they are gorgeous pastel shades and all have different variations of the Mr. Fox design and I can't wait to use them in our kitchen! You get three in a box and a little tray to pop them on so they are easy to water and transport if need be! I do like the orange one but my favourites are the light blue and the cream.
I've packed away my Christmas candles and now it's time for some new, fresh scents in the house. I chose these two from Amara because they sounded absolutely delicious and the colours went with my pastel theme. I love both the scents which is great because candle picking online can be a risky business. Prosecco Rose by Voluspa is literally my perfect scent as I adore rose. It's fresh, floral and honestly one of the most gorgeous candles I've ever smelt. When lit, it fills the room with the most delicious rose fragrance that is just so fresh so perfect for this time of year when most of us want a fresh start. While it does feel sad to be packing up my Christmas fragrances, but finding this gem on Amara has made the pain that much easier to deal with!
Another candle I picked up which goes with my pastel theme is this one from Max Benjamin which smells of 'Victorian Earl Grey.' I picked this one more for Johnny as he always moans about the way my candles smell and he loves Earl Grey tea so I was hoping that I could appease him with this one - and it worked! Even he agrees that the fragrant scent of Earl Grey is fantastic in a candle. It's definitely a heavier scent than the Prosecco Rose but its just delicious - it reminds me of an old timely tea shop. The packaging for this is also so pretty: a light, aqua blue which is just so bright and cheerful. The spicy, musky smell fills the room so quickly when you start burning it! It's divine!
Because we rent, it's so hard to make our home feel like ours but these little touches from Amara have really helped to make our house feel like a home. What ways are you revamping your home this January?
*These items were gifted to me by Amara but all thoughts & opinions are my own!*
